About the variety
In the highland jungle of Costa Rica, banana varieties such as “Congo” and “Gros Michel” can mature in the best growing conditions. These, as well as many other local varieties, cannot be found in large plantations. However, only aromatic varieties that provide baby food with its ideal flavour are suitable for our organic products. With organic bananas, the consistency also plays a key role. Only mixing different varieties gives our puree the ideal composition. Our organic bananas are harvested when they are still a little bit green on the outside. The final ripening stage lasts about one week.
Additionally, we also process those fruits that do not conform to the visual standards of the fresh market – too small, too thick, too thin, too big. The fruits are processed locally to avoid spoilage during transportation.
