Fish from sustainable fishing methods
The rapid extinction of species most adversely affects 80% of all breeds of fish. To protect the seas from overfishing, HiPP has changed to 100% environmentally-friendly organic or MSC certified wares in its choice of fish for production and the company’s restaurant.
HiPP only uses fish from sustainable fishing methods. That means that the fishermen may only catch as many fish as can be replenished. The fishing methods used must not damage the oceans. The Marine Stewardship Council is an independent international non-profit organisation for certification of sustainable fishing methods. Independent certifiers continually monitor whether fishing methods correspond with the high standards of the MSC. The MSC standard guarantees that the fish come from fishing methods which spare both the stock of fish and its environment.
